College of Pharmacy Laboratories

The educational and research laboratories at the College of Pharmacy, University of Manara, are considered one of the fundamental pillars in building the practical and scientific skills of the college’s students.
These laboratories have been equipped with the latest devices and equipment to keep pace with modern scientific developments and to provide a distinguished educational environment that simulates the requirements of the job market. Below is a brief overview of each laboratory:

Biochemistry Laboratory

This laboratory focuses on the study of chemical reactions occurring within living organisms. It provides students with hands-on training to understand essential biological processes such as the metabolism of carbohydrates, proteins, lipids, and the functions of enzymes.

Microbiology Laboratory

This lab emphasizes the study of microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, and fungi. It equips students with the necessary skills to culture, identify, and analyze microbes, as well as evaluate the effects of antibiotics.

Biological Sciences Laboratory

This laboratory introduces the fundamentals of general biology and helps students understand the structures of cells and tissues. It offers practical applications in anatomy and the biological systems of living organisms.

Organic and Analytical Chemistry Laboratory

This laboratory is dedicated to the study of organic compounds and their reactions. It also trains students in both qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques using the latest analytical instruments.

Pharmacology and Toxicology Laboratory

This lab provides practical training to understand the effects of drugs and toxins on body systems. It covers dosage studies, side effects, and various pharmacological mechanisms.

Medicinal Plants Laboratory

This laboratory focuses on the study of active medicinal plants and the extraction of their bioactive compounds. It trains students to classify and analyze plant-derived materials.

Physical Pharmacy Laboratory

This laboratory aims to teach the physical principles that govern the formulation of pharmaceutical preparations, such as solubility, diffusion, and chemical equilibrium.

Pharmaceutical Technology Laboratory

This lab focuses on training students in the manufacturing techniques of various pharmaceutical dosage forms, including tablets, capsules, creams, and solutions, using advanced industrial technologies.

Clinical and Virtual Pharmacy Laboratory

This laboratory offers students a virtual simulation environment that mimics real clinical settings, enabling them to develop communication skills with patients and deliver effective pharmaceutical care through modern digital systems.

Computer Laboratory

This lab provides the digital infrastructure necessary to train students in the use of pharmaceutical software, conduct research, and analyze data using appropriate technological tools.
